Bone grafting Some patients have a bone deficit that prevents enough bone from growing for an implant. In such cases, the implant surgeon may need to perform bone grafting or even tissue regeneration that leads to the regeneration of lost periodontal tissue. These standards detail what makes a material safe. Most dental implant systems are made of titanium or zirconium oxide.
